Legambiente, the most prominent Italian environmentalist association founded in 1980, has awarded Parco della Maremma (Maremma Natural Park or Uccellina Park) with the Oscar for Eco-Tourism at the BIT Milan Fair.
BIT – which stands for Borsa Internazionale del Turismo – is Milan’s International Travel Fair that brings together trade operators from all over the world, a large audience of visitors, travel lovers, television reporters and press. Sponsored by Fiera Milano, the most important player in the Exhibition Industry in Italy and one of the biggest in the world, Bit takes place every year, since 1980. Over the years Bit has been an international meeting point for decision makers, professionals, buyers, sharply outlined and selected, coming from different areas and industry fields.
The “Oscar for Eco-Tourism” award is a new initiative of 2016, and has particular importance in the category of protected parks and areas, entities and spaces that are increasingly disappearing around the world.
And Maremma Nature Park is the proud winner of the first edition … congratulations!
