The Maremma is renowned for its culinary and wine traditions, which it will celebrate from the 16th to the 18th of May 2014 with the Maremma Wine Shire. Food festivals and wine tastings will take place in different towns, and the general public will be able to appreciate the aspects that symbolize this area: quality and eco-sustainability.

The Maremma Wine Shire is not only an event, but also a movement that presented itself at the latest Vinitaly edition in Verona, with the aim of exporting the passion for local oenological traditions.

Most of the tastings and wine exhibitions will take place in Grosseto, the largest city of the Maremma. But lots of related initiatives will take place all around the area, allowing the discerning tourist and inhabitants to appreciate and taste the local excellences.

Even some sports activities will go beyond the competition and indulge in the gastronomic fair. For example, the Argentario Golf Club will host the Maremma Wine Shire Golf Invitational. After the tournament, golfers and guests can taste the wineries’ wines on the golf club’s panoramic terrace. A rich buffet with typical Tuscan products will conclude this sports and eno-gastronomy event.
